I do not live in this apartment complex...yet. However, I called for some information today (12/31/2008)at around 12:50 pm. I received a call back from John at 1:48pm. I asked him what time the office closed so I could come view the buildings and he made me aware that the office had closed at 1pm. So, not only did he call me back after closing (on New Years Eve!), he then informed me that he had a lot of paper work to do and would probably be there until 3:30ish if I wanted to come out and view an apartment. Wow! I am in sales myself and I know how it is to want to sell something, but John's customer service was just above and beyond. He was so polite on the phone and really took his time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. After further conversation I was made aware the John lives all the way in Port Huron! Here's the bottom line, just wanting a sale is not enough for the average person to offer all that John did. He was absolutely amazing and because of it Village Park has definitely been put at the top of my list. I have scheduled an appointment to view our apartment on Sunday and I can't wait! I can not say enough about this experience, I am just blown away. Thank you John and Village Green Communities (they own Village Park) for hiring someone that so obviously loves their job and customers!

After I wrote the previous review I actually visited the site and delt with Katrina. She was equally as nice and informative. She showed us both the one bedroom and the two bedroom. My boyfriend and I decided on the two bedroom and put down our priority deposit on the 6th. An extra bonus, my boyfriend's dad used to be in the military so we got all of our security deposit (& pet deposit) waived, plus two $75 fees! As far as I can see, these people are great!

Don't move here, it sucks.

i would say it sucks for many reasons. They don't do anything to improve the apartments. The gate is broken 6 out of 7 days of the week, or people just drive through it. The crime that you don't know about is rediculous. Thank the office for not telling you about it.

I love it because the apartment community IS well maintained. I live in building 1289 and don't have these weird smells that people are talking about or dirty hallways. If something is broken, it gets fixed. The building is quiet. Yes in the summer there was some rumors of crime incidents but that obviously happens anywhere, I mean we are in a metropolitan area. The gates have been working for months. The apartments are probably from the 60s or 70s but feel new, yet they have decent prices. The staff does seem to care, at least everyone I have talked to.

I don't live at the complex but I too am looking at possibly moving there. For you residents complaining that they dont tell you about the crime, they aren't supposed to. Try doing your own homework and contacting the police department directly. I used to work for a property management company out on the west side of the state and for resident privacy, we NEVER released information to a resident regarding other residents in the community. Would you want them telling your neighbors all of your business? With that being said, the apartments do look a bit older, but for the money and what i've seen so far, it looks like a great value.

Hello everyone, my name is Michael Barnett and I am currently the Property Manager of this community. A lot of great things are happening at the community that may help with your concerns. First, we have just recently completed construction of a perimeter fence with locked pedestrian gates at the entrance. Our entry gates are well maintained and function properly. All residents are given gate cards at time of move-in to gain access to the community and the gates go down at 8pm nightly. We also have a courtesy patrol that help keep an eye on the community after hours, carry an emergency pager, and report directly to me. We make it a goal to do these things and keep them working regularly. Second, the community completed a million dollar renovation in 2006. From this renovation, our residents are currently enjoying updated cabinetry, new kitchens, and many other great upgrades! We also offer updated lighting, mirrored dining room walls, curved shower rods, and other great upgrades. We also offer a 24 hour fitness center and racquet ball court, full business center with free Wi-fi, billiards room, and fantastic sun deck and spa. And did I mention we include FREE heat and cooking fuel? Our goal at Village Green is to strive for 100% resident satisfaction and thats what we continue to shoot for on a daily basis. Should you have any additional questions or concerns, I can be reached at 248-373-5800 or via e-mail at aubpropmgr@villagegreen.com. Sincerely, Michael Barnett Property Manager
