never again

I would never live here again. For the two years i have lived there, this is what my experiences were while living there. The office won't tell you about any of it. Muggings, fights, and armed robberies go on, and they don't tell you about any of it.
Lets talk about the cleaning staff. The hallways never get cleaned. Everyone in the buidling has to call the office before they send someone out to clean the hallways. It takes a lot of coaxing to get anything done. It is rediculous. The property manager lies about saying it will get done more often. The property manager told me that They would personally walk through the buildings every week to make sure they got cleaned, and it never happened. Even the maintenance personell would not suggest anyone move here.
False advertising. This is not Auburn Hills. It is Pontiac. The hot tub, YEAH RIGHT. When it works like 2 weeks out of the whole summer.
Lets talk about while you are living there. If there is someone cooking, and it stinks, it stinks in your apartment too. Especially the hallways. Some people cook some really stinky stuff (seriously stinky stuff). The noise travels through the vents in the hallways, so you hear everything that is going on, and people can hear whats going on in the hallways too.
I lived here for 2 years. I couldn't wait to leave. I am not just some kid complaining. I have lived in apartments for a while now. This is by far the worst experience yet. Move in at your own risk.
For the first response, the reason we lived there for 2 years, was because we thought we had a decent deal. That was, until we started hearing about the crime. Then nothing was getting cleaned. The hot tub never worked. The office lies to you constantly. The office not wanting to do anything. The abandoned (probably stolen) cars on the lot. The drug deals in front of our building (that the cops never showed up for after i called them). The neihbor that got beat with a bat, and then the office lied about that too. This place, as some of the people on here said, rent at your own risk. I don't have a mom and dad that can afford to move me whenever i need to go somewhere. I have to support myself, and it isn't exactly easy to just pick up and move with a family. This isn't worth the price. Look around some more, and find a place worth living.

If you hate the apartments so much why have you lived there for two years? There is a point when price (or whatever made you stay) just doesn't compensate for all the bad stuff you say goes on.

I hear you! You basically confirmed everything I said in a previous review of this place. Sometimes there are circumstances beyond your control where you have to frin and bear living in a crap hole. Nevermind this other person who responded to your review. You lived there 2 years not 20. When you're an adult and have responsibilities you just can't pick up and move no matter how badly you hate the place. This person probably works for Village Green, I know for a fact they routinely pump up their ratings on these blogs.
BOTTOM LINE- This place is crappy. The staff doesn't even make an effort to keep the grounds up, let alone perform routine cleaning. The ventalilation is poor. so get acquainted with the stench of rotten food sprinkled with curry as it will be embedded in all of your clothing. I don't even live there anymore and just recalling that odor is turning my stomach. If you move here you are really taking a chance with your personal safety and possessions. Especially if you are a young single woman like I am. There were all kinds of shady characters lurking on the property. (And that doesn't even include the property staff). I wouldn't waste my time typing this long warning if every word wasn't true. Don't do it. Keep looking if you're thinking about moving here.

Not true for me, I'm still here and love it. It is an apartment-MULTI FAMILY HOUSING! You are going to smell things in the hallway and hear noises from the hallway. Read my review for more details. This place is not perfect but it's good.

With apartments, the price should NEVER be an excuse or reason for the lack of quality and security. (Amongst many other "lack ofs".
The first review is dead on!

Hello, my name is Bryan, I have been the Area Director for the community for a year and was the Property Manager of the community for the six months prior to that. I believe I know who this "resident" is who posted this review. Acaav, please feel free call me or e-mail me so we can discuss your concerns. It seems to me that you may be trying to bad mouth the community and grossly exaggerate about issues because you were fired from your position at the community and then left the community owing a balance. If you believe something is unfair, I am willing to discuss it. With regards to the "bat incident" I remember this as I was the Property Manager at the time. No one was randomly beaten with a bat. The responsible party were troublemaker kids fooling around in the building. This was by no means an act of violence. However, this group was promptly evicted a year ago. If you have some concerns, I would appreciate a phone call or e-mail: 248-932-2750 or e-mail me at bhamburger@villagegreen.com.
Glam, when did you move out? I would like to discuss your concerns with you too, please e-mail or call.
Yes, several months ago we did have some isolated crime incidents which have since been resolved. Unfortunately, many apartment communities go through this. I manage several all over the area and in Chicago. Crime is not an every day, every week or every month occurrence at this community. Also, we have beefed up night patrols and continue working with police and have seen positive affects with this. The staff at Village Park are by no means "shady characters." If you believe differently, I would like to know specifics. Service Request turn over time is about 24 hours. The hot tub was down for a couple weeks this summer to be refinished but after this period it worked consistently for four months. The grounds are routinely kept up, grass is mowed weekly, trash is picked up daily, flowers are planted in spring, we have a full irrigation system, snow is consistently plowed, sidewalks and parking lots are in good condition, roofs are new, most hallways have new carpet and have been recently painted, sidewalks are shoveled, exteriors of buildings are clean and freshly painted, any car that looks abandoned is stickered and then towed, I could go on and on. I encourage anyone to pick a day and drive through the community. This is a professionally managed community. Please drive through the community and see for yourself.
To any resident that is dissatisfied please, please call me or e-mail me at the above contact information. Village Green believes in 100% resident satisfaction.
