When we first moved in (2003), the apartment was fine. One bedroom, second floor. First, the downfalls: parking was always a pain, since there are too many cars and not enough room. People often park in the fire lane. Laundry is a nightmare since there are only three washers and dryers for over 20 apartments. I heard there are four washers in all of the other buildings, which is weird, since our building had the most apartments. We had a few incidents there, i.e. people letting off fireworks in the parking lot after midnight, a fire down the hall, a rape two buildings over and the laundry floods constantly. Bringing home groceries or anything heavy (because of the parking situation), is a real peach.

Word to the wise: the apartments on the second floor are ridiculously hot. Average temp in our 2nd floor was about 83-85 degrees. If you like hot, your set. If not, look somewhere else. I heard 1st floor freezes and third floor roasts (3rd floor often had their windows open in the dead of winter.)
Now, the good parts. Your heat and water are included, which is great. The women in the office are super friendly and try to help any way they can. For the first two and a half years, we never heard anything from our neighbors (above or below) until the last 6 months, when the neighbors upstairs made it practically unlivable with the noise. The apartments are large, especially for the money. The water pressure is a bit of a pain so your toilet plugs frequently (get a good plunger).

Overall, it is an okay area (not great but could be worse). Just make sure you have a good plunger, some earplugs and enjoy a workout from the long distance walks through the parking lot. (LOL) But, perhaps the money and apartment size are worth it...
