Instead of paragraph form, let me make a list because it saves the run-around.
In no particular order:

1) Weird Maintenence
2) Bad Maintenence
3) Apartments have mold smell to them until you reshampoo the carpets even though they "shampooed the floors"
4) The Pool is disgusting
5) The grounds are covered in trash (and when they mow the lawn, they just run it over)
6) I see the police here at least once a day (one time three times in one week in my building, and then also in June they were scowering the grounds for someone or something with spotlights at 12:30 in the morning)
7) The hallways of the complex are disgusting. Covered in cigarette butts.
8) The laundry rooms suck.
9) Bad office staff.
10) It is loud. Full of kids with parents who don't seem to care very much.
11) Kids were playing football in the front yard, knocked out my headlight in my truck, and took off to the backyard
Finally:
12) 2 kids (one belongs to a maintenence man) broke into a window in my building and set off firecrackers next to the furnace, which could have very well BURNED DOWN MY BUILDING!

Sure the rent is cheap, but honestly the money you spend putting into your apartment to make the smell and the dirt go away, it will be cheaper to go somewhere else.
