If you are looking for a scenic, highly secure apartment set aside from the hustle and bustle then this may be the place for you -- if its in your price range.



My girlfriend and I lived here for a year. We were in building 32. Our upper floor 2bed/2bath had a view away from the apt complex which was nice. A new luxury neighborhood is being built off of Butler road, but this hasn?t deterred the deer from grazing in the nature preserve between the two residetially zoned properties. Just about every morning and evening we could see a herd of deer passing through.



As for the condition of the apartment, its wanting. It may have been a freak accident, but the day before we moved in one of the toilets flooded causing damage to our apartment and severe damage to the apartment below us. Fortunately the one below was for corporate rentals and no one was there. As for ours, the office tried to play the situation down and wasn?t very professional about correcting the problems. They were trying to blow dry the carpet eventhough the concrete below was soaked. I had to go through hoops to have them remove the carpet and place professional grade suction dryers on the concrete floor. We didn?t notice any molds but that doesn?t say some may not have started in the cracks between the apartments.



On a more positive side, River Oaks has one of the best pools & decks I have seen. Most apartment complexes these days build a pool as an after thought. River Oak?s pool is big and their deck seats over 40 lawn chairs. The tennis courts are in excellant condition. Plus they have lights on until at least past 10:00pm.



I could?ve done without the speed bumps. Not good for your car?s shocks.
