I don't think that Amber is paradise, but I do think that it offers a great environment at a low cost. The maintenance and office staff have always been more than willing to work with me and offer repairs in a 24 hour timeframe. My maintenance person even gets a Christmas card for me for being so prompt. It's an old building, yes... but close to downtown areas with excellent restaurants and night life. Yes, the floors creak and the units are old but it's actually rather charming. When I moved in I got a new refrigerator and new carpet. Give Amber a chance... I think it's a great place to live. Going on my third year.
