I just want to give you all a warning before you even consider applying for a lease with this company. I myself am a customer service professional and found the business practices of the Amber apartments company to be, frankly, shocking. On Wednesday the office staff showed me a particular unit which I applied for on the spot. They told me that the application would be processed right away and I would hear back from them the next day. The office called me Thursday (the next day) at 12:30 in the afternoon and told me that I was approved and I should come in to sign the lease. I told them that I was at work and could call in about an hour and a half to come in and sign. When i called at 2:00 they told me that the unit was no longer available. They had taken a cash "hold" on the apartment they had just told me to come in and sign for!!! At this point I had already left work early and they had run my credit report so I inquired about other options after very politely expressing my confusion and disappointment to the manager. He showed me a similar unit (not as nice) and said I could put a deposit on that one if I was still interested. I asked if I could think it over and call back. When I called this morning, the manager let me know that they would send me some sort of dinner coupon or something as an apology and hope I would find something somewhere else. He said that he felt that they had screwewd up the deal so badly that there was no way they could make it right, so they won't even rent the other space to me now!! I'm completely baffled by all of it and hope that this review will save someone else from the headache and stress these people have caused me. And another warning: they hand out keys to the buildings like candy. I had no escort when i viewed these units. they simply handed me a couple of keys and told me where to go. kinda creepy and quite dangerous, in my opinion.

This review shoud have been posted to the Amber Apartments located at 380 North Crooks in Clawson. The Amber Apartments located at 3807 Crooks in Royal Oak is a completely different company.

Dear "unprofessional beyond all compare", thanks for the warning..tried to look at an apt. at 3807 Crooks, mistakenly went in the exit drive (snowy, didn't see sign until I entered. Promptly turned around to exit , stopped to wave and apologize to the manager (?) who was blowing the snow. He angriy pointed at the sign and started yelling at me.When I rolled down my window to explain I was looking for the right address/apt./etc. he motioned for me to leave!! They just lost a customer>
