I thought I was moving into a regular apartment complex, but I soon learned that this is pretty much a mentally disabled home. This place is full of mentally retarded people. Which would be fine, if the lady downstairs would keep her pants on. Or if when I got out of work, one of them didn't wait outside my car to ask me 75 questions and follow me all the way to the door. Or the one guy who slams his mailbox door and yells obscenities. And please, I wish I could make this stuff up, but it's all true. Also the apartments are terribly taken care of, the new owner is doing a good job of hiding it. Our apartment was redone right before we moved in, nice hardwood floors, granite countertops... but the heaters are falling apart. the one in our bathroom is just half there. The floors are so creaky you can here EVERYTHING from the person above you. I know apartments are not the quietest place, I've lived in my fair share... but really this is horrible. The guy above us walks around all day (his mind is half gone as well) and all you hear all day is creaking and stomping... he wakes up every hour and stomps too. Also wood floors in apartments' turns out it's a terrible idea, especially when the neighbor next door does not like to take her heels off after her night at the bar. click click click... for an hour after she gets home.
So yes this is the longest post ever about an apartment, but I really really don't want anyone else making the same mistake I did. Because I'm starting to wonder if these people were mentally disabled when they moved in here, or if it's this place... because I'm starting to think after a few more months I might go crazy enough to run around with no pants too.
oh yeah the laundry room is terrifying, and apparently in the winter bums invade the place... I can't wait.
