I don't know how I was duped into moving here. I guess it was because we were promised a "newly renovated" apartment with granite countertops and wood floors. This place is smelly and gross. Everything is falling apart. The shower doesn't drain and it hasn't drained since we moved in, despite repeated requests to fix it. One time they did send someone and I came home to disgusting black gunk all over the tub, so I guess that was an attempt on their part. Also, they had to close the "pool" (the pool where you have to bring your own chair because there aren't any provided) because of a PH issue. I don't even want to think about what that means.
And the place is inhabited by lunatics. That is not an exaggeration. Seriously, crazy people. Maybe that's why there's constantly somebody getting arrested in the parking lot... or someone being taken away on a stretcher (that happened last week). Sometimes I'm just relaxing on the couch watching TV and I hear the crackle of a police walkie talkie. It's actually become a running joke with my friends. I guess it won't be so funny if my apartment gets broken into like the guy in the building next door and someone steals all my stuff.
You might like this place if you want to hear EVERYTHING your neighbor is doing. I don't. It's been quite a learning experience though. One time I heard the maintenance guy outside yelling at his "baby's mamma" on the phone and telling her he was going to send someone to her house to kill her. That's a nice memory.
The office staff is NEVER in the office, so don't even think about getting ahold of them if you have a problem. I think they purposely don't pick up the phone. I've looked around for new apartments so I can get out of here as soon as my lease it up, and guess what'! I found larger apartments in Royal Oak with DISHWASHERS and patios and washing machine hook-ups, for about $200 less than I'm currently paying! Can't wait to move. Thank God I didn't get bedbugs. I probably would have sued someone.
