nice location, bad management

These apartments are in a great location; they are within walking distance of downtown, and are also near 2 freeways.
The residents are extremely nice, and there is a definite sense of community (at least in the summer).
The main problem with this place is the management/maintenance, or lack there of. Major repairs are not done. Lights in the communal areas are often burned out, stairs are left broken, this place is practically begging for a lawsuit. A fine example of Wagon Wheel behavior: The day we moved in we realized the toilet was broken (i.e. totally non-usable), and even that took a few days to be fixed (there was some excuse about the plumber having his drivers liscence revoked . . .).
Inside the apartments things are older, but in ok shape. There are some new appliances in select apartments.
This place is ok to live in, as long as you know what you're getting into.
It's difficult to rate the "manager" of this place, the last one was extremely nice, but there's only so much one person can do, and currently, there is no manager here.
