I moved here with 2 others in the summer of 2008. The management then was over in North Park Towers, and sort of ignored everything that went on in our building. They would not acknowledge our complaints, and did nothing about the vandalism that was occurring on the property. Many cars got broken into, and one of our vehicles was even hotwired and driven about 2 blocks a month ago. While it's nice it wasn't stolen for good, we are still in the process of fixing the car. There was a group of teenagers who would punch holes in the walls, discharge the fire extinguishers in the stairwells, and generally wreak havoc. Also, they decided to sell the building less than a month after we renewed our lease (we had problems finding a new place), and we received no notice about this decision. We found out about it from another resident.
Our building is now under new management (for about 1.5-2 months now). They have done some remodeling and landscaping work, which looks nice. They've also hired a security guard that roams the building at night, and have fixed a chunk of the vandalism. A ton of residents have moved out since they took over -- I don't know if it's because they were planning on getting out already, or if the new management is evicting a bunch of them that weren't paying rent. I feel like they are making some changes, but it's happening very slowly. The laundry facilities rarely work on multiple floors, the fire extinguishers aren't back in the stairwells yet, there's no parking lot surveillance, and they're apparently not done remodeling the fitness center (even though it's been closed for a month).
I think things will be better in 6 months, after they've had some time to get things straightened out, but right now I would not recommend the property. The one great thing is the amount of space for the price ($1100 for 1600 sq ft is fantastic for the area).
