I have lived in North Park towers for 2 years now and don't get me wrong the apartments are huge and you get alot for your money but.......if you want to deal with VERY RUDE OFFICE STAFF. Well one office person in particular then go ahead. We got a new management team and one person in particular is very rude. When you see her in the office you just hate to go in and do anything apartment related. You rather just wait until someone else is there. Also, they are changing these into so-called Condos who wants to buy an apartment' This is not New York and the apartments need a lil updating too. You have several amenities, a restaurant,sundries store, clothing store, concierge, library, hair salon and dry cleaners and I will miss all of those. But if you see a blond haired lady in the office be prepared to be spoken to very rudely like you are bothering her while she is supposed to be doing her job. Also, all you see is residents moving out and none moving in..well I am soon to be one moving out right when my lease is up. The grounds are kept up and they let you have any type of dog too!! With exceptions to vicious ones but if you want a place for your pet this is a good place. Oh I forgot, the underground parking is super expensive and you have to pay for storage and the water bills range from $60-75 a month!!! They get one bill and divide it amongst the residents now how unfair is that!!

i agree that lady is pretty rude. i actually thought i had done something to get her angry at me but im relieved to learn im not the only one. the apts do need some updating but i just renewd my lease cuz theres nothing like a large apt with underground parking and with such good access to local highways.

Actually they do not take one water bill and divide up among every apart. The water bill is based on the apartment size. So if your apt is 1540 sq feet, everyone with the same apt pays that amount. If your water was metered it may cost more. And further, the water bill comes from the cit of southfield, they aren't just making up a water bill. All we have is a water bill. I rather pay a water bill then pay for heat, air and water.

Well I guess you didn't read your lease when you renewed it or you have not got a chance to renew your lease yet. You will be paying for heat sooner then you think, if you don't believe me pull out your lease and you will see it there. They are putting in meters right now you do see those white HVAC vans outside everyday..maybe you don't pay attention. When I renewed my lease in "2008" when Haile was there I believe it is on the 2nd or 3rd page. You will be paying for heat. So, you can pay a high water that has tripled since I been there and soon to be heat. I have checked out people that have homes in Southfield that are bigger then my apartment and there water bills are no where near mine. And if they are, they live in a house and I live in an apartment..Hmmm!!

I am no engineer but I do know that the building's heating and cooling systems are water based (boilers and chillers) which would explain why our water bills our probably higher than a single family home. Also, the last time I checked with the office, I was informed that the metering for gas was on hold indefinitely which means no separate gas bills, thats a good thing.
