I love this place! I moved into The Franklin in early 07 on the recommendation of a friend that has lived here for several years. Having lived in 3 other complexes in (R.O., Novi, and Southfield), where I had not had very pleasant experiences, I came here as an ultra-picky renter. When I viewed the 1 bedroom apartment, it was still in the older style, clean but worn out. I requested that the carpet be replaced, and was told that the entire apartment would be placed on the remodel list and would be completed before I moved in. OMG, when I went to sign my lease I took another look at and it was gorgeous! All new appliances, new carpet (with good padding), new floor in the kitchen (modern looking peel and stick tiles, but still very sharp), new lighting (attractive "brass" chandelier in dining area), and the kitchen cabinets had be re-faced with a nice oak looking veneer. While the materials may not have been high-quality, it looked great because of the quality of work and attention to details - I was very pleased. The sound quality was very good, I rarely heard my neighbors, especially after 10pm. The layout is very much like a hotel, with similar sound-proofing. I also felt very safe at all times, the security guards are all very friendly and they make it a point to get to know every face. They also take regular walks around the parking lots and each floor. I often work late and come home after dark and would see Moe on his walk around the lot, with his flashlight. He even looks under the cars! All main entrances are accessed using key fobs now, so you never worry about copies of keys getting into the wrong hands. Most of the employees live on-site and the owner visits weekly, if not more. Debbie and LaToya are extremely friendly and always do their best to address any concerns immediately. There are also different activites put on for the residents monthly (movies, Bingo, barbecues, parties). I never attended any of them, but it was really nice to see the management getting so involved with the community, I had never seen that before. Also, maintenance is always quick to respond to any problems. The only reason I am moving is because I am moving out of state. After spending time looking at apartments in Phoenix and reading some of the reviews, I wanted to make sure I let others know about my great experience here!
