I lived in VG of Southgate for nearly 3 years. Let me NOT recomend a ground floor apt at this place. Kids run wild all throughout the complex as they have NO playground areas at all in this complex. So they are forced to play in the parking lots and in front of the apartments themselves.

The management lets anybody who has the down money move in. IN my three years there I had drug dealers, wife beaters, alcoholics, and complete rude/inconsiderate people as neighbors. As for getting laundry done in the laundry room...well, to put it simply I lost over $200 worth of clothing because thieves would take your clothes right out of the machines!

The main building door was busted and would not lock for over 5 months! Even though several tenants of that terace building had complained about it. So much for "secure" buildings eh'

The "security" gaurds that were supposed to patrol the lots after hours were often found in the club house watching TV, or even sleeping! Rent was raised significantly to build an automated gate (that closes one enterance at 9:30 pm) and a guard house at the main enterance. This took more than 2 years to finish after building had begun!!!! Even when it was completed, there was NEVER a gaurd posted in the "gaurd house". I really felt ripped off.

I would NEVER recomend anybody to Village Green of Southgate. All the managerial staff that was helpful have since moved on to other complexes, and Village Corporate do not return calls. I had written a letter of complaint to them, and in the letter stated that I worked 9-6 and asked that they call me after 6...guess what, they called at 2pm!!! Obviously Village Green corporate types don't know how to tell time.

Unless you want a noisy, wild children having, drunken party type atmosphere that will remind you of frat house days in college, don't live here!
