The Good The Bad & The Ugly

I live in a 2 bedroom apartment in the section where heat is provided. I have only been living here 3 months. When I moved in I expected it to be crappy based off of some reviews I had read.

THE GOOD: Cats & dogs are allowed. Maintenance issues (ex: broken blinds, leaking toilet, & door chain that pulled out of the wall due to improper placement) have been fixed to my satisfation. Tenants here are really nice. All the kids have manners and a lot of people say "hi" when you walk by. I don't feel unsafe, although I would never just leave my door unlocked. Last time I checked I did not live in the U.P. I would have to say that the walls are thick and I don't hear a thing from our neighbors. The neighbors are typically quiet in the halls. I like my dishwasher, although I wish it was larger. If you are speedy at darting cars you can walk to Meijer. I like the location. It is a good location if you do not prefer rural areas.

THE BAD: The first weekend I moved in it was St. Patty's Day and you could hear people fighting in the halls. Since then I have not heard a thing, so maybe the loud neighbors moved. The blinds are breaking constantly when I try to open them, but maintenance comes to fix them for free, so I don't mind it so much. The hot tub is more like a luke warm tub. Kids run on the tredmills with wet feet. The pool, hot tub, & gym close at 10pm. The game room closes around 7pm. I am not a big fan of the metal kitchen cabinets. Sometimes stupid people leave rocks in the door. You have to walk down to let people in (although it could be better safetywise b/c random people are less likely to be buzzed in). Which reminds me...I called 3 times to have my connection fixed so our phone would ring when our apartment buzzer was pushed. Our apartment buzzer is still not working, so I only know when people come over if they call me on their cell phone or throw rocks at my window. Luckily, all of my friends have cell phones.

Wow...you think this is a decent place to live?? I would be so stressed out by all the minor inconveniences. You pay them money every single month to have a certain quality of life. The very least they could do is take away as much room for worry as possible.

The BAD is all true too. Constantly having rocks left in the doors. We've had strange people come in and solicite at our door. One time it was a mentally challenged person and he tried to force the door open after we said no. We've also had drunk people that DON'T LIVE in our building appear on the floor in front of our door! We usually get like 3 months of good then 6 months (or longer) of crap! And management just thinks you are bitching, the say "well it is an apartment". Well when I'm paying almost as much as a house payment, you better do something about it!
