Spiders & Mice!!!!

I live on the ground floor. I have a collection of insect sprays. Mosquitos & moths are very bad during the summer. Spiders and mice are the biggest problem. I wake up with spider bites all the time. I find drawers of droppings in the kitchen. Yes, the exterminators come out but they do the same thing ive been doing...put out poison, traps and spray for the spiders. Still not effective.
The first mouse i spotted, i named him Stinky (for obvious reasons). It took a while for me to catch him, but i did and took him to the CVS dumpster on Fort and Ford Rd--over a mile away. Funny he found his way back, or so I thought when I realized he had a big family. They were coming in from the closet in the livingroom. If you look below, you can see there is a big gap under the carpet that leads to the utility room, which leads to outside, letting in lots of light, cold drafts (in the winter) and many many pests and rodents. Unfortunately, there is not much management can do, unless they tear out the closet and put an actual floorboards there.

My name is Angela Sprague, and I am the Property Manager. I am quite surprised to read your rating of the community. The staff strives to maintain luxury homes in our community, and although I must admit that I have no knowledge of your particular maintenance concern, it would be my pleasure to address the issues you are experiencing. If you do have a construction gap in the closet area, there are solutions to fill it in. A survey was sent recently, hoping that, if there were outstanding maintenance concerns with any of our Residents, that all could be addressed immediately. Please contact the office as soon as possible to discuss repair options.

I agree with the previous response. We had issues with bugs and spiders as well. It was a horrifying experience in which I was bit and my leg was scarred by a wolf spider. I am aware of 2 other cases in which this happened to individuals. This seems to be an issue that the complex is well-aware of but chooses not to correct. My best guess is that they would have to incurr significant costs in order to fix the problem. Unfortunately, Angela is very friendly UNTIL you sign the lease - then, she doesn't care about you or your problems - just wants your rent money. Good luck to future renters!

Thanks for posting this. I had planned on moving here in August but after reading this I've changed my mind. I just had a new baby and I don't plan on dealing with spiders or mice. I'll pass!
