I had issues the day we signed our contract. Just to let you know, if you don't want to pay for a month more than your 6 or 12 month contract, you HAVE to sign the 1st of the month. We signed the 2nd of the month and were stuck with paying for 7 months (minus one day) instead of the 6 months we planned. We were told that there is a buzzer system in each unit so we can buzz in guests into the building. This is not true for building four (my building 2860). As it turns out, to work the buzzer system for the locked doors in building four, you have to also pay for a landline phone... another $20/month. I complained and complained and each time was told something different. Because of this problem, all packages are delivered to the front office. I finally contacted the corporate offices in Boston and still did not get it resolved. Besides that issue, the hallways are beyond dirty and smell really bad, dog poop is all over the grass, and there is no playground equiptment for children. I live on the second floor and have to run the shower for about 10 minutes each day before getting warm water. We are building a home and can't wait until we get out of this dump. The management and how things are run bothers me more than anything. They don't care about the buildings or tenents so once you sign a contract, don't expect anything from them.

Lived here?

I don't understand what all the fuss is about with this person, I have lived here in this building for 3 years and I think that the staff is great, the maintenace workers are always going out of there way to help the residents. And as far as the poop on the grounds, only the pet owners can keep the grounds poop free at all times.

You must not have a toddler. We have to walk in the parking lot to avoid poop. The management even knows it's an issue because they are now threatening to evict pets who don't follow the rules. I give them the credit for posting such notices but have not seen much of a change around here. If you didn't notice, I had much more issues with the place than that. I didn't even mention the maintance people. But now that you mention them, it took months for them to get the front door's lock to work properly in building four.

I agree completely with the review. I live in the office building, half the time the back door doesn't look, so anyone can get into the building. Maintenance is terrible, my shower has never drained the entire time I have lived here, despite the numerous times I have complained. It's very noisy, people coming in and out at times, not respecting people around. Even one of the people working in the office refers to the owners, based in Boston, Slum Lords who refuse to spend the money fix anything, but get angry because people don't renew their leases. I would never recommend living here to anyone.

For the few who have posted here, if you adamantly feel this way, then it begs the obvious inquiry...why did you move in to begin with? I am about to embark on a new job in St. Joseph, and Lakecrest was the first place I came upon doing research online. I visited this past Tuesday and I found the place to be quite nice compared to where I currently reside in Plymouth. I selected a one bedroom that had brand new carpet, new fixtures and a nice view of the forest area in the back of the complex. The leasing agent who assisted me was quite helpful and even convinced the property manager to reduce my security deposit amount after it was discovered that my credit rating was less than stellar. You're going to find slumlords wherever you go. It's a fact of life. You should have seen some of the places I lived in whilst I was going to the University of Michigan. One was a co-op that housed 40 people and had only three bathrooms. It was an absolute commune. You think walking around a public area littered with dog poop is bad? Try using a bathroom where the toilet is half covered in vomit because someone who drank too much couldn't reach it fast enough. I mention this for perspective rather than justification. As far the individual who lives in the office building, I ask you the same question. If you don't like it and would not recommend it to anyone, why are YOU there? I'm just so tired of people pissing and moaning about things. From what I saw (and I spent most of the day there), I was satisfied. I think the lot of you need to put this energy into something more productive than just sitting around as if you're some old women with too much time on your hands. Once that happens, I think you'll find that life isn't so bad. At least you have a roof over your heads. Think about that for a moment...
