Excellent living all around

The SHores were recommended to us as the best place in town, and we're pretty sure the commetn was accurate. Rent is slightly more than other apartments, but the overall value is superb.
We have a second floor apartment, which is slightly larger than ground floor, has vaulted ceilings and skylights, plus a balcony. Floor space is roughly 1200 sq. ft.
The condition of the building is very good, with a small amount of wear aparent, but never an issue. Paint, carpet, walls and all appliances are in excellent shape. Other amenities include central air conditioning, in-unit laundry (off the dining room) and a storage shed that opens onto the balcony. The kitchen is very nice, with plentiful counter space.
We got a garage in one of the several blocks of 1 car garages on the campus. It proves very useful for storage, and because we had to walk across the campus to reach it, we were not charged for it in the rent.
The apartment management owns a private beach which sees little use. It's a 5 minute walk (if that) from the back door of our building. The beach is nothing spectacular, but it has the requisite sand and water and pretty sunsets over the lake.
Management is friendly and easygoing, and always quick to respond. The location is 10 minutes from downtown St. Joe, 45 minutes from South Bend, and 3 minutes (maybe) to the interstate.
