This is an unorthodox review given that I never lived at Ashgrove or Olivewood apartments. But listen to my story, it is very telling about the management of these apartment complexes.

Being from Iowa, I decided to combine looking for an apartment in Sterling Heights, MI with a wedding I was going to in Ann Arbor. The wedding was on Saturday 5/17/08. The day after the wedding I attempted to begin my search for an apartment. Both Ashgrove and Olivewood offices advertised being open till 5:00pm Sunday. I figured I'd try one of these places before the day was through.

I arrived at the Ashgrove offices at 4:30pm but the doors were locked! No one answered knocks on the door. I called and left a message with a callback number. I moved a few miles north on Hayes road to Olivewood it was close and there was still time.

I found the office, This time it had a big open sign. Through the front screen door I could see people, I parked my car. When the management saw me park they changed the open sign to closed and shot the door. I still had 15-20 minutes before 5pm so I went to the door and knocked on it. Management said they were to closed. I told them I had come a long way and that their sign said they were open till 5pm. But they didn't care.

I never went back to see either place. And I never got a call back from Ashgrove.

These apartment complexes keep identical hours, similar price and apartment setups, and the same lousy management style. They are under the same ownership, go figure.

What a complete moron. Sometimes things come up, and an office is closed. This person probably left a ridiculous message, who would respond to someone you don't want living in your apt complex anyway?
