I have been at Balmoral for a little over a year now. At first, I was pretty happy here...until my first month was over. There is a playground with a covered slide outside of my apartment which is not lit. Whenever I come home at night, I feel very unsafe. The walls are very thin. Nightly, I hear loud banging inside the building. It's always between 9pm-10pm. It's enough to shake the floors.
Parking is hard to find. If you come home after 7pm, it's hard to find a spot near your apartment.
The staff isn't very helpful. I had a squirrel problem for about 6 months of my stay. Every night/morning I would hear scratching on my ceiling/walls in the bedroom. I've complained about it constantly and nothing was done. I saw the hole where the squirrel was getting in, pointed it out to the staff and never heard from the maintenance guy again.
The windows are new, but they still leak. When it rains I have a puddle on the window sill. I'm not the only one, because the apartment below me has a towel on their window sill as well. They also let in a pretty big draft. On hot summer days the air has to constantly run, which isn't good for the electricity bill.
On a positive note, the apartments were spacious and the bathroom is huge. Loved the walk-in closets.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. The price was great, but it's not worth all the trouble and restlessness.
