Nice place to stay overall, although there are a few setbacks. first of all there is no dishwasher which sucks in my opinion. Also, in the summer the apartment is BURNING hot!! The only air conditioner sits in a corner of the living room right by the door. It is one of those air conditioners you see in old apartment windows. So you have to turn it up really high all the time just to make your apartment livable. We found that if you close all the doors (bedroom, bathroom, etc) and leave it on it will make your living room nice but the bedroom always stays HOT and STUFFY. We ended up moving our bed into the living room. Furthermore, we always found these weird bugs in our bathrooms (they slithered)! gross! maintenance never took care of it. Another problem we had was that there are only 2 windows; one in the bedroom and one in the living room. Well the problem was that the window in the living room faced right outside where everyone was walking past. So if you left the blinds open everyone would look inside as they walked by, therefore nobody ever has their windows open and you have to turn on lights, which obviously increases the DTE bill. Noise could be a problem at times on weekends in the early hours of the morning (like midnight to about 4am). This was annoying for me especially since I work some weekends and had a hard time sleeping. Also they were always doing a lot of construction which got annoying on my days off when I wanted to sleep in. It made things harder to do (like carrying groceries around the construction), yet there are still major flaws like the fact that the walkway on the second floor tilts. Also, laundry is annoying to do. You have to carry your laundry outside to the laundry room and if you don't like close it can be a long walk. Also with construction you may end up carrying it up and down stairs which is NOT fun in the winter. It is not all bad though. It is a good apartment for the price. One of the cheaper apartments in the area and they pay for heat and water (including hot water). So all you have to do is DTE and cable if you want. Thus, we kept it really warm in the winter and did not suffer from high gas bills. Also, the courtyard is beautiful and the pool is big and empty (i have not seen tons of kids in it). If you're on a budget and want a nice and reasonably priced apartment to live at, cambridge house is the place. Otherwise, spend an extra $100 a month and live somewhere without all the problems. We are not resigning our lease and are happy to be moving on.
