Not too bad

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
Pros:
- View of tall trees from the third floor: Very soothing.
- Windows in both (East/West) sides of the building: lots of natural light. Our cats loved it!
- Quietness: Our unit was away from I-75, so we could open our windows at night without any noise issues. Also, never heard excessive noise from neighbors.
- Safety: Never felt unsafe, although the gate/building door lock didn't work.
- Easy accessibility (within 5 miles) to Somerset Collection, Bally Total Fitness, Whole Foods Market, Royal Oak/Birmingham and I-75.
Cons:
- Maintenance: Slow response (2-7 days). Not-so-good work. Never had major issues in our unit though.
- A/C: On a hot (80 ) day, not powerful enough to cool the living room. Second bedroom got no A/C. Not suitable for people who can't live without A/C.
- Wrecked/abandoned cars left on the street: Simply ugly.
- Surroundings: Although this is relatively affluent Troy, this complex is surrounded by trashy houses and industrial companies. Not a fancy side of town.
Other comments:
If you want a quiet and cozy place to live, this place may be good for you. I recommend living on the top (third) floor, because downstairs you may hear wood-squeaking foot steps of upstair residents.
