Nothing but trouble

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009

Here is a little highlight of my time here at Eagles Landing:
I moved in to my apartment in December of 2007.
Our building was broken into twice during 2008 . Once the water meter was stolen (in several other buildings as well) and a second time our basement storage cages were burglarized. There was no apologies issued, and the management appeared unconcerned still about the security of the tennants.
We were told the buildings were secured entry when we moved in. In reality there are three entrances to my building one of which is secure, one of which the door has never fully closed in the time that i lived there, the last is a service entrance that the door requires nothing but a small nudge to open. several service requests have resulted in the response of a maintenance person but no resolution to the problem.
It took me nearly a year of complaining to get my sliding glass door fixed, it did not lock. The complex said that i should simply place a stick in the door, and i did but the fact of the matter was the door did not lock.
The buildings are old and run down: our building has lost heat or water many times since i have lived here, though one positive when utilities go down the maintenance staff is fairly fast to react. Despite that the utilities have failed far to many times.
To put icing on the cake, i have paid rent early or on time every month. This week i recieved a notice from the complex that i was delinquent on my rent and owed $860.00. i spent two hours pouring over my bank records and accounted for every rent payment. When i called the complex and spoke to a manager the lady simply said we will correct it and stated that she was not there at the time the mistake was made.
I moved to eagles landing because of the relatively large size of the unit im living in, and the fact that the building appeared to be secure. Im very dissapointed.
For the money there are much nicer well maintained places to live. This complex may be located in troy, but the way it is maintained you'd think you were living in highland park and paying troy rent.
