If you truly want to know about the safety of your home or potential home, take a look at the city's police crime blotter or local news paper. Rochester Villas has been the highlight in April. the management had the great idea of hiring a private security company to patrol the complex. Great concept, however the thugs in the complex decided to attack the security guy.
The atmosphere is that of an annex of Children's Village in Oakland County. No parental supervision, the worst behaving children that I have ever experienced. Children's Social Services should be called. For that matter, the Feds should check into illegal immigrants. The residents that obey the lease and rules are penalized by the bad citizens and the demon seed children.

Also being a resident of the Rochester Villas, and although I agree there are a significant number of unsupervised/poorly parented children/teenagers living in the community I would like to comment on a few of your issues or offer some common sense suggestions... 1) Police not calling you back? I am guessing you are internet savvy since you found this place on the internet to voice your opinion and does a sex offender search for troy... So, I will simply remind you that there is a 24 hour website for Troy Police Department. On this site you may investigate and even sign up for updates that does show crime statistics and when n where they have calls to come out and why. And of course I am sure you are aware the police department is open 24 hours so you can go to them in person at any time. 2) It is your right as a Troy and US citizen, (if you are), to go to the police department and ask for advice on what is the best way to address your problems. 3) City Council meetings are Public so you are free to attend a meeting and speak your mind. 4) I have personally contacted the police re: unruly children or a late evening unsupervised party and they have ALWAYS Come. 5) If you have a problem with a resident who is not obeying the lease, report them to the office. If they are indeed problems then chances are their lease will not be renewed. I suspect the rental office is not open during your "problem times" so it would be physically impossible for them to know what is going on UNLESS you report it. 6) Being a concerned Parent/Resident... Have you tried to see what is involved in organizing a Neighborhood watch? 7) As far as sex offenders are concerned... I don't like it either but I am pretty sure it is the Law and the Equal Housing Act that forbids Management from denying residency. If you were living in a house I HIGHLY doubt you would be allowed to run background check for prior acts including sexual offenses and deny their purchase. Again, It is the law and if you don't like it, Vote for the politician who agrees with your views or petition the government for new bills, laws and acts. That's how the Amber Alert was started. I am Sorry if you feel the any of the above means have assisted you. I will go out on a limb here and say it's most likely no one is forcing you to live here. I suggest when your lease is up you move and do a Full check on the property before you move in. In Fact I suggest you find a gated community for your own personal peace of mind with Panic Buttons in Every Room. Best Wishes and God Bless!

You are a very interesting person, I would assume that I must HAVE offended YOU!!! As far as the police I called SEVERAL times and left messages for a certain detective but again there was no call back.I got information from the school principal that we had a police problem that is why they (police) neglected to return my phone call because they did not want their statisics to go up. FYI I am a US citizen. FYI I believe that when I applied here we had to do a background check, for what? Of course you can't find out or know where are all the sexual predators are even if you were in a house, however why do a background check? Trust me I am aware of the city council meetings but TROY is suppose to be one of the safest cities here. My problem isn't with the city of Troy it is with Rochester Villas. FYI I will NOT be renewing my lease, don't have to tell me that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Well you don't seem too concerned about the sex offenders since you so heartedly stated the Fair Housing Act. Let one of those freaks attacks one of yours one day and I'm sure you won't be quoting the Fair Housing Act then. Yeah of course the police will come when you call, but they will not return your call for information regarding statistics! Last but not least you must be as internet savvy as me because you sure did respond a very lengthy response you are on the internet just AS MUCH!!!! Peace
