Good so far...

Eagle Pond Heights is a nice apartment complex. I have just recently moved into it. I looked at many of the other main apartment complexes (8) in the surrounding area, and found that it was the best place for your money. I am fairly particular about where I live...so I did much research on all of them.

I hope this helps others out there trying to relocate to the Walled Lake area. I feel this will be a more accurate and "updated" review of Eagle Pond Heights.

PROS:
1. Built in 1999, so all appliances, fixtures, carpet, doors, etc. seem to be very well maintained and updated
2. 2 ft. of concrete between every apartment's walls and ceilings.
3. Extremely spacious floorplans...much larger than the average.
4. Large closets/storage space...the best I saw.
5. Large, open kitchen in "1A/B" floorplans with great cabinet space.
6. Security cameras, night security guard, and locked entrances.
7. QUIET
8. Terry, the manager, is very personable and accomadating. (He seems to do what he says he will. The first time I visited the complex he mentioned how the hall carpets needed to be cleaned---the next time I was there to sign the lease, they were being cleaned! The best apartment manager I talked to actually.)
9. Location is convenient to dining, shopping, etc.
10. Great specials! I received 1/2 off of my first 2 months of rent and 4 ($50) coupons to use off of rent. (875 savings!)

CONS:
1. No washer/dryer in each unit...only on each floor.
2. Not as much of a "home-like" feeling...basically set up like a hotel, with 3 hallways and 4 floors.
3. No utilities included, except water.
4. Parking not quite as convenient if you live in a center apartment, and cannot use end entrance.
5. Noticed slight "smokey" odor from some of the floors, but no worse than the other apartment complexes.

As previous renters had mentioned, Eagle Pond did experience a high turn-over rate of management in 2003. Terry, the current manager, has been there for over 2 years. He seems to be bringing the place back up to higher standards.

I spent 2 FULL days interviewing and visiting various apartments in the area. This is definitely one of the better ones. Good Luck!
