I have lived at WLA for the past 1.5 years. I have found it to be a very, very nice experience. I moved here from out of state and put my deposit down without ever having seen the complex and was a little anxious that the pictures were of "newer" apartments and didn't represent the complex as a whole, I had read that parking and partying was an issue at one point and I feared the rent would increase when my lease was up.

None of these things were true. The mamagement is amazing. Robert is so kind and helpful. He took extra photos of the apartment and emailed them to me in NM since I was unable to fly to MI to actually see the space. Since I have been here, he has been helpful in responding to clogged drains and other minor issues and returns phone calls with in 24 hours. The apartments are modern, super clean upon move in, quiet (as it is surrounded by wooded areas), parking is assigned and covered (for FREE)and at renewal time, my rent remained the same as last year.

I work a graveyard shift at U of M and found sleeping in the day time (even on weekends) easy to do. Neighbors are kind but not intrusive and the grounds are kept mowed and neat. I love seeing the frogs come out in the evenings and the lake on stormy days. Beautiful natural setting.
