If you are looking for a nice, friendly, quiet place to call home, then this is NOT the place for you. Where do I begin' The walls in these apartments are very thin as are the floors/ceilings. You can hear EVERYTHING going on in your neighbors' place from fights to bedroom activities to simple phone conversations. If you are lucky and have quiet neighbors, you may be able to tough it out, but I wouldn't risk it. And I don't care what anyone says about apartment living: you should not have to deal with that much noise coming from your neighbors, intentional or not.

Safety is another issue. While living here, I heard stories of people getting their doors kicked in. I was even approached by a police officer (he was very nice and just doing his job) and asked if I had heard about the "kick-ins" and if I had seen anything suspicious. Needless-to-say, this did not make me feel good about the place. Management did not even send a notice informing us as to what went on, but they were always quick to erroneously send you late rent charges or other notices for random fees that should not have been charged to you.

Speaking of management: they were not very available, responsive or helpful. Well, I guess I shouldn't say all of them. The ladies in the office were very nice, but unfortunately, they always referred questions and concerns to the property manager, Carrie, who was either on the phone having "meetings" or not there. When you did get a chance to speak with her, she was very dry and often rude. Some say she may be responding to the treatment from the residents, but I assure you that this is not the case: she's just rude.

Parking can be a bit of a problem, so it might be good to pay for a covered parking spot. However, some residents/guests park wherever they want including the spot you pay for. The spaces are clearly numbered which, to me, indicates that it is reserved, but I guess some people don't catch the hint. It would be helpful if management would post signs that say they are reserved spaces and cars parking unauthorized will be towed. But good luck getting the management to do anything.

On to the grounds. Dogs are allowed at this place. Pet owners are supposed to clean up after their animals, but many did not. You would often find nice little pet surprises when you'd open your door or walk the property. I don't know what was going on with the sanitation department, but the dumpsters always seemed to be overflowing with garbage. Winter maintenance was very inconsistent. Some days they would clear and salt the walkways in the afternoon. Other days they wouldn't clear them at all.

Overall, I would not move here. Arbor Knoll is not worth your money or your peace of mind. Do yourself a favor and KEEP LOOKING.

Agreed. I lived there several years ago, and check back on this periodically. My door was "kicked in", and my apartment robbed while I was at work. (Broad daylight). It happened to my neighbor a couple months later as well. This was back in 2002, and back then, management refused to issue a notice to all residents. In my mind, this is pure negligence and disregard for the safety of their residents. Then, and now, management would rather risk residents safety and piece of mind rather than generate any negative publicity. Sickening, sickening policy. I think it's just a matter of time until someone gets hurt or assualted during one of these break ins.......but the "robbers" seem to have a knack for always knowing when no one is home. I always thought it was very possible these were "inside jobs." Don't live here if unless you have no other options.

The break in's, the noise, the drugs, hmmm, and the management, where does the blame lay? I would say with management. If something is going on that you should be made aware of then why aren't you made aware of it? Well, because their motto is get them in there and you are right, with negativity they aren't going to rent apartments are they. That's why this is a great site. They can't get away from it. If you walk in there trust me you will get lied to because that is their job to fill the place up, the complex can't tell the truth otherwise it would be empty.
