Horrible Maintenance and Staff

As many before me have mentioned, when the apartment was Arbor Glen, it was great. As soon as the new management took over, quality and caring took a nose dive. I also had extreme issues with the new manager, Carrie. She is uncaring and unhelpful. It took me a month to get a dryer that I was paying extra to rent to get fixed, with no offer of credit. I am still currently waiting on my shower to be fixed. I called them a week ago and tiles were backordered. I still have to wait another week now that they have arrived to get them put in. Apparently the 4th of July weekend is actually a week long for management and maintenance. I wish I had that luxury.

In short, the price and location can be alluring, but the hassle of living here is not worth it. It is noisy and unkempt and I wish I never moved in in the first place.

Update: Since posting this review, I would like to add a couple of things.

First, I had my car broken into and the stereo stolen a few months ago.

Second, the care of the sidewalks and the parking lot in winter is near non-existant. I have fallen on the ice on the main walkways three times since moving here. Tonight, I saw a van slide directly into a mailbox because the parking lot was so slick.

You may ask why I still live here. Trust me, it is only my laziness and hatred of moving keeping me here. As soon as a I can afford a house, I'm out.

What this resident said about the transition from Arbor Glen to Arbor Knoll is absolutely true. This property was well maintained under Equity Management, but York Properties does not have the same customer friendly environment. I lived there for 5 years--less than one year after the transition. I could not sign with York Properties. There are too many options in the area to pay for poor customer service. The central problem is the manager.

I completely agree, Still living here but after this year is up we are gone! It was Arbor Glen when we moved in and the change in management killed this place!! Management is now HORRIBLE! I have actually given up on requesting anything unless it's very important because I know it just won't get done and we are tired of fighting for what we should be getting as residents... Not to mention we are now paying over nine hundred a month for a 2 bedroom and we know without a doubt that there are MUCH better deals in Ann Arbor for MUCH nicer places! This place has potential, but only with a complete management change..

Of all the apartments i have lived in , I have never had to call maintence for anything. If something needed to be fixed i fixed it myself. I dont want a bunch of strangers tracking through my home to fix something that i am smart enough to fix on my own. You people mooch off maintence to fix every little simple petty thing for you but what do you guys plan to do when you actually own a home? When your a/c breaks you wont have maintence to come and fix it. When the heat is broke YOU will have to fix it. When you have a crack in the tile you will have to pay for it and fix it. Owning a home means expence out of YOUR pocket... no more maintence to come around and wipe your ass for you. Good luck if you ever do try to own a home. Hopefully you will figure out how to fix a leak in the roof before the whole ------- things caves in on you.

To the last response from 4/09/09. Think before you speak!!! If you are paying on a house that you are BUYING then yes by all means, fix it your %^^&&self. But if you are paying RENT guess what: at the end of the lease (when you are ready to move) you have no equity and nothing to show for it. The money was spent for a place to lay your head at night. Maintence needs to do their job. After all, part of your monthly rent is going to maintence. If they get a paycheck every two weeks, then they need to get off their a$$ and do their job. Bottomline!!!
