Not Bad...but Not Good

My roommate and I have lived in our apartment for a year and have recently graduated from school, so we're moving.

Let's start with the positives. The 2bd 2bath apartment is a great layout for roommates. Each person has an almost equal size bedroom, a bathroom, and great closet space. Our apartment was on the second floor and had a great view of a pond and a barn. It also had a great storage area, plus the washer and dryer hookup was nice. All and all the apartment served us well for the year.

Now, the negatives. I will say that I have nothing nice to say about Carrie Martin, the manager. She is the epitome of "couldn't careless". This is her job, nothing more nothing less. I will say however, that she could at least pretend to care rather than get defensive immediately. Moving in we had problems with our actual move in date. Apparently a girl who worked in the office (and is no longer there, surprise surprise) should have never told us we could move in the last week of July. This resulted in us having to take the apartment early, but only two weeks since I threatened legal action. The next big kicker was getting our air conditioning fixed. It took 4 visits from maintenance and countless calls (and more threats of legal action) for it to be fixed satisfactory.

After all of these problems, I have never seen Carrie again. In fact, I've seen her hide in her office when I come in, which is fine by me. We've also had the maintenance guys, who are pretty nice, come by almost immediately when we have a problem.

I've never had a crime issue (other than a squabble with our downstairs neighbors, but you'll have that anywhere).

I will say that it probably wouldn't be my first choice in apartment if I were to ever move back to the Ypsi/Ann Arbor area, but you get what you pay for. If you want a really big 2bd 2bath apartment, with decent storage and are willing to put up with less than stellar management, it isn't so bad.
