Why live in a shotgun shack in Detroit when you can live at International Place with all the same features'''

Seriously' Why live in the hood of detroit when you can live in a sweet apartment in Ypsilanti with many of the same features at quadruple the cost'!
Like shacks in Detroit, International Place comes complete with drug dealers in every building. Yeah sure, the leasing office makes you feel secure by making you pay for 549587345 backround checks that they conduct on you, but it seems like theyve stopped that policy once youve moved in. They dealers are easily accessable too! All you have to do is basically just go outside and youll find at least ten at any given moment hanging out at the parking lot or standing on your porch looking in at your new computer. Who can compete with such security'!
And what about the people across the hall throwing an outdoor barbeque at 4am' Does security notice' Nope! You actually have to fumble with your phone in the dark to file a noise complaint dispite the fact that they claim to always have at least two security officers patrolling the area at night.
These days, no apartment complex is complete without a little bug infestation. International place comes complete with spiders in the fall and huge winged ants in the spring. And dont expect them to care right away unless you threaten legal action!
And what about all that cold water' When I complained of no hot water, they said that because everyone had their heaters on, it was taking energy away from the water heater and that Id probably get some hot water come spring. Lame excuse, but whatever. Well spring came four months later and guess what... no hot water! They even gave me $200 to shut up about it too. Thanks International Place!
And what about the shoddy construction and plumbing' The office manager suggests that these apartments were built in 1997, but I think otherwise. My cieling is made up of more caulk than drywall, and just a few days ago they kindly informed me that my bathroom cieling had rotted "to the point of desintigration". Thanks International Place... I was wondering why swamp water kept coming down from the vent up there! And dont expect them to come by and fix anything right away. Heck, the first time you call, theyll even accuse you of lying.. AT NO COST!
As you can see, these apartments come with all the latest features... Thugs, ants, swamp water, the works!

This is ABSOLUTELY ACCURATE. Wonderfully written! I have lived at International Place for over 3 years and have experienced every single thing mentioned in this post. Last night was the best one... 5 gunshots fired outside my "garden level" window. Nice. DO NOT LEASE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Misty, you show your hand. You are taking these reviews awfully personally. Almost like you work here or something. People are drawn to this complex for several reasons - maybe they don't have much money, or maybe they need to be close to the college. Whatever the reasons, sometimes even when there is nothing they would love more than to leave, there are things that prohibit them from doing so. Life is complicated, Misty. It's not always as easy as "just break your lease." My mommy and daddy do not pay for one single thing I do or own, Misty. It sounds to me like you have a little issue with people in this college town... maybe you're feeling a little inadequate. You like to sit back and imagine that we are all living on mom and dad's bankroll, and if you had a mom and dad with a big bank, you could do it too... but you simply can't because you don't have anyone funding your life. Well, Misty, you're absolutely wrong. Sounds like you suffer from classic entitlement thinking. Truth is that I've worked my ass off for every cent (and every "A") I've earned, and I've done it on my own. So being someone who LEARNS, I most certainly will not continue to put my dreams, goals, and my life in jeopardy by staying here. Will it cost me more to move somewhere nicer? Yes. But it will be worth it when I can sleep through the night without being shocked awake by gunfire. If you like living in this kind of environment, Misty, than I suggest you stay right here. But this forum is an extremely valuable thing for people like me who want something better for themselves.

I am amazed by the reponses posted on this forum from Misty626. She has impressed me with her total allegiance to an apartment complex. So much so, that she feels it is important to attack almost all of the people who enter a negative review of the complex. I cannot understand why she does this, but, more power to you! Its good to know that in our country someone like misty626 can stand up for her beliefs no matter how flawed they may be! Go misty626! You keep defending International Place Apartments! Perhaps one day, if you're lucky, they may even put you on their payroll and you can become their local PR representative!

Actually Misty I lived at IP while in school (for a summer) and that was eight years ago. It was scary then! Nonetheless, I have lived in many different complexes since then and while none were perfect, each one did instill a sense of security by good lighting, ample staffing, and an effecient means of policing the neighborhood. If people were not honest in their depictions of a particular complex the complex would have no reason to change. Honest reviews can potentially pose as a catalyst for this to be a wonderful and safe community.

First of all, if I want to state an opinion, I can. You all have your opinions about International place and I do to. Don't knock me because I want to say what I think about International. Like I said before and I'll say it again, I like International, and I am very comfortable here. If neither of you like it here MOVE.
