I'm a UM grad now working for the University and I wanted to get out of A2 and it's outrageous rent. We have a 2 bdrm apartment at Aspen chase for what I was paying for a Studio apartment near campus.

The carpets were cleaned and walls repainted before we moved in. The heat and AC work really well and we've never had an electric/heating bill over 100$ (even in the winter)- most of the time it is 40-50$.

I once broke a glass in the sink which fell into the garbage disposal- the maintenance crew was there the day after I placed a request and they removed it.

The workout room is okay... nothing fancy- but everything is functional.
There is free wireless on the pool deck and surrounding area. There are lots of open wireless networks in my building so we have never paid for internet.
The pool is not heated, and sometimes there are pieces of weaves that float by you.
When you get oversize packages that won't fit in your mailbox the driver leaves them at the front office. The office leaves you a notice and you pick it up there. (Had problems with this at previous apartment.)

We moved in without a security deposit due to good credit.

Besides some neighbors that play the bass in their car kind of loud, and the weaves in the pool it's a great place to live. My interaction with the office staff, though minimal, has always been pleasant.

Great review ncjdivadancer! I donno how I feel about weave in the pool, even though you sound so level headed about it all. But I'm glad to hear they treated you well. I hope you enjoy where ever you are moving next. :-)

Really? And how long have you worked for Aspen Chase?

I have lived here for over a year and a half now and I finally feel like I have a place that I can call HOME. I walk with my two children ever night and I feel as safe here as I ever have. I would definitely reccommend Aspen Chase to anyone looking for affordable housing and great service!

I wish if management would post on this website they'd actually try to constructively respond to the negative complaints rather than make up positive reviews.

Nice try Mopolan- but I LIVED in ASPEN CHASE and am NO WAY affiliated with their managment/staff whatever. I just moved out of state for Grad school, and if I would have been staying in the area, I would still be living at Aspen Chase. I'm a white female, and I felt safe to walk my dog at night there. If you pay your rent on time, and abide the rules, aspen chase stays out of your business and lets you live your life- which is how it should be. The things I didn't enjoy were the ghetto neighbor boys who played the bass in their car too loud outside my window, and the fake hair that would float by you in the pool. other than that, I NEVER had a single problem with Aspen chase. You should stop assuming that EVERYONE has a bad experiance JUST because you did.

LMAO, you are so full of it! Aspen Chase is horrible. I broke my lease because it was so horrible. I paid my rent on time but that didn't stop the notices from the office saying that my rent wasn't paid even though I had cancelled checks and money order receipts to prove it. I broke my lease in July and I still haven't received an itemized list of charges or my security deposit and it is now SEPTEMBER. I have been calling and e-mailing the office staff since July and they have yet to respond. Aspen Chase is not safe, I wouldn't let my 9 year old step-son out to play on his own because there was always some type of drama unfolding outside. The cops are always there trying to break up fights or arguments, the maintenance staff has NEVER responded to any service request that I have entered, I could go on and on but the bottom line is - this place is horrible. McKinley is a joke!
