I have lived at Eastern Village for less than a year. and I have to say that it is the worse apartment complex I have ever lived in, ever. I moved in because the place was huge and the price was low. Well there is a reason for that. Where do I start. Maintenence is a joke, my stove broke so they not only take a week to fix it, but then bring me an older more broken down stove in its place, when I complained they told me "hey it works, you should not complain". I had a leaky faucet, they came and fixed it then used my bath towels to kind of clean up there mess. If it should happen to snow on the weekend you are screwed. We were snowed in and never saw a plow truck. I called on Monday after the weekend and I was told that no one works on the weekend, so if something happens on the weekend you are screwed. Our building flooded on the first floor and the entire building smelled like ---- for at least a month. I am sure they never cleaned the carpet. Towing is a nightmare, my best friend was towed when we were unloading my car, we even had the flashers on. We go to the towing company and we come to find out that the owner of Eastern Village also owns the towing company, so the owner tows his own tenants. If that is not a scam I don't know what is. All I know is that there are more empty apartments now than when I moved in. Any good review on this site has to be written by the people who work in the office because all of my neighbors are miserable. I should say all that are left, most have moved out. The manager sucks, I do know her and she is worthless. She doesn't remember anything and acts like you have never talked to her when you make complaints. She not only never follows up on anything but is unfriendly and unapproachable. There is constant turnover at the office, maybe she is the reason why. I am a good tenant who always pays my rent on time and I am treated like a piece of dirt. I have tried hard to work with these people and have gotten no where. I will be moving out when my lease is up. Please take time to read the other bad reviews, I say this because when I read these reviews I realized that I am not the only one who has big problems with this company and the complex. The people who complain are not bad tenants, just tenants who have had the same bad experience that I have had. I think it is very funny that someone would actually say that Eastern Village is a good place to live, they must have been raised in a garbage dump. Oh one last thing, if this review doesn't send you running this will. The complex is located what has been dubbed the "north ghetto" of Ypsilanti. I hear gun fire on a regular basis. Poor lighting makes the visitors lot a haven for drug dealing, which is indicitive of the area. When the police chase off the drug dealers from the Eastern Village lot they just hop over to the other complexes until the police are gone and then come right back. I am suprised no one had been shot yet.
