Fairway trails is average at best. The rent isn't bad compared to other area apartment complexs, and the building maintinance is pretty good. Most of the units are getting or have already gotten new appliances. However, some of the buildings are old, so the windows and sliding doors are drafty and the furnaces / AC can be unrelieable. Your bathroom will likely be falling apart, mostly due to building age.

The crime rate has been getting worse over the last three years. Your storage unit will be broken into, and there have been a number of car thefts from the (poorly lit) parking lot. Car breakins happen pretty frequently as well, though this seems to happen at every apartment complex. There have also been a few armed / unarmed robberies in the past year.

As far as I know, there's no section 8 at fairway trails, and the neighbors are what you'd expect. Some are cool, some are noisy, and every once in a great while there's a drug dealer (two busted in the last two years that I know about) in your building. Par for the course in a college town.

Fairway trails isn't Lake in the 'hood, but it's nothing special either.
