I absolutely agree with you about getting an apartment sight-unseen. My apartment was an absolute horror story when I walked through the door--but, of course, it was too late since I already signed the lease. They should absolutely show the apartment BEFORE the tenant signs the lease. Dogs run loose all over the place, and responsible dog owners (who actually pick-up after their dogs), are afraid to take their dogs out for a walk because there is literally dog crap everywhere all over the grounds! There is no breed restriction that is enforced. It's worse than living on a campus in terms of noise because the walls are paper thin. Rent increases are ridiculous. I suggest moving to a safe complex in Ann Arbor. When you add up the water, sewer, and utilities, you'll be better off in the long run.
