The lesser of other evils

Unlike other places, we were able to view our apartment prior to moving in. The carpets were clean, the appliances were up-to-date and there were no apparent discrepancies. The other perk was the washer/dryer unit in the apartment. The overall upkeep of the inside is relatively clean. That's where the goodness stops and the real experience begins.
The paint job was shotty-- certain areas that needed to be painted only had daps of paint (that didn't match) on the walls. Our faucet leaked uncontrolably for a month until an angry letter went to the corporate office--needless to say, maintenance came to fix our problem the next day. Heating sucks-because the buildings were made in the 70's and no renovation plans (as of yet) are in the works.
Speaking of maintenance, if you want something done--really do it yourself or find someone who knows what the hell they are doing. They only come around when it's convenient for them. The staff is lazy and uncooperative. Several inquiries need to be placed in order for a request to be taken seriously. And every time you go in the leasing office a new person is there.
If you can handle this then move in, if not, move on!
