This is my second year living at RiverRain and while reading some of the reviews, i must say that everyone has a point in one way or another. The apartments are nice and big, especcially the 3rd floor with cathedral ceilings that really add to the living room. The bedrooms are spatious (i room with a friend and we have 2 Full beds, nightstands, a computer desk and a 32 in. TV with plenty of room to hang out.) Its nice having 2 bathrooms, especcially if youre gonna live with 3 or more people. The washer/dryer i think is the biggest perk as its very convenient and saves you from spending cash at the laundromat and while you need to pay for heat and cable, water is free. The walk to main campus can be long, especcially in the winter, and McDonalds, Papa Johns, Subway and the best Chinese food in town (Lucky Garden) are all walking distance from the buildings. "RiverRain Wayne" the maintence guy is kick-ass, so make friends with him. If things break or dont work, the guys are very quick and friendly about whatever it is. As far as bad things, i must say that security can be overbearing. Even on Fridays and Saturdays, theyll knock on your door and yell that people are sleeping, when all this place is partying college kids. And sometimes, they just LOOK for apts to bust because theyre bored half the time. Parking BLOWS. theres a big guest lot in the back, but theres so little parking out front that residents take up the guest lot anyway. Its not a bad place to live, i enjoy my apartment alot, but theres just a lot of little things that can piss you off once you get here. oh, and Caroline (the manager) is one clueless lady, so be prepared to either get angry or re-explain yourself to her 37 times as to why you want a reciept to something. Its better to deal with her little henchman Brandon. But anyway, its easy to meet people here and theres plenty of fun...you just gotta find it.
