While I eventually left to the next door eastern village, my time here was very good. Truely caring management who would always greet you with a smile, pop, and a cookie, Beautiful buildings both inside and out, few, but quick repairs, tons of flexibility with payment, and all my neighbors were either isolationists or awesome people. The only two downsides are price and parking, neither or which were terrible.

As for price, it was decent. A comperable appartment at eastern costs 66% what one at river's edge does. Not that I'm saying RE's appartments aren't worth it, just that if price is your main concern then there are other options for less that I consider acceptable.

Towing is a problem with both complexes. You will learn to warn all your friends and family to park carefully when visiting as towing is expensive and virtually guarenteed if they make a mistake. Also I've seen cars towed by mistake a couple of times, though the towing company does let those go without fee. Still towing will probably be a problem for you or your new friends at sometime during your lease. Don't screw up.

One other thing I forgot to mention. There are bums wandering the sidewalk between river's edge and EMU. The appartment complex just down the road is eastern highlands. Read their reviews if you want to know the sheer horror of that ghetto. Since they don't lock their doors bums like to crash there and wander around nearby. They are generally benign but they are still creepy sometimes. Still, I rarely felt unsafe while I lived at river's edge.

Overall this is probably the nicest place in yspi that the average student can afford.
