I've lived here for a year. I had to renew for a shorter term lease to due financial obligation that need just a few more months to resolve. Otherwise, I would not have resigned my lease due to these reasons:
Pets roaming the buildings without leashes...breaching the lease contract
Bug infestation during the spring, summer, and fall months...apt complex bug spray doesnt kill the bugs.
Furnace has went out 3 times in 1 year due to malfunction with thermostat. Thermostat replaced 2 times in 10 mos.
Other tenants guests ringing my buzzer at all times of the night and argues with me that they pushed the right buzzer.
Other tenants guests being loud and rude in the hallways.
Old bent screens put into the windows. Don't open during spring, summer and fall mos. Cold draft during winter months.
Heating: is horrible. I have to keep the heat on 80 just to keep the apt warm. The furnaces are REALLY REALLY REALLY old.
Landscaping is horrible. The shrubbery grows and is not trimmed so you have to fight leaves and bugs to walk down the steps to get to your car.
There were literally 3 move-ins & outs right above me in the 10 mos that Ive lived there. (*Domestic Violence that I called the police cause my neighbors acted as if they didn't hear a thing*)
The walls are so thin I can literally hear someone talking in every room that I am in.
The walkways and the parking lots are not shoveled or plowed until around 2pm when mostly everyone living there work and they leave between 7:15am and 8:30am.
Other tenants are very inconsiderate and noisy. The laundry facilities specify hours of operation at 8am-10pm. Tenants wash at 1am or 2am and management does nothing.
Not to mention the Entry Door lock: If a new resident comes to the apartment then the lock gets broken. It generally doesn't get fixed until someone keeps complaining. Ive seen children in the building break the lock just so they will not have to carry a key on them.
This place is a dump! After my lease is up I am definitely MOVING!!!! I've begun the process of finding me a new apartment.
