It'd be better to throw your money out the window than give it to those ppl. They lose billing stuff. The maintenance staff is rude(except for one guy but of course they hire someone who actually cares about their work a few mos before we move!). There was a gas leak in my bldg and the maintenance guy was giving the michcon guy a hard time about getting into the apt.
We had a red mold problem in our bathroom and for some reason or another there were cracks and depressions in our sink and of course instead of hiring ppl who knew what they were doing the maintenance staff chose to go up on the roof to fix it. I had them come out a dozen times to fix my a/c with no avail.
The office staff is something else. I've gone in there numerous times to hear them talking about residents and most ppl would stop when they saw residents but not these women. I hated going in there for anything because they usually weren't helpful and the community manager quit cos she was tired of all the b/s. They try and invent new ways of charging you for things and then constantly put flyers on your door telling you to refer a friend...only if I didn't want them as a friend ever again. They also do these yearly inspections and it was strange because when they'd do these so-called "inspections" they didn't seem to find anything and I'd have to point out all of the things that were wrong. It seemed to me like they were just coming into your apartment to see what you had so they could figure out how much they could raise your rent for the following year.
I will give them this; they refunded out security deposit in record time after we moved out...but part of me thinks it was because I had a confrontation with the property managers about their business practices.
If you choose to rent from them keep these things in mind:
a)NEVER let the maintenance guy leave your apt while he is supposed to be fixing something because you won't see him again for another week(apparently 'I'll be back after lunch' translates to 'I'll be back in a week when I feel like coming back and spending 5 more mins in here')
b)the ann arbor tenants union is your best friend and likes to eat slumlords like them for dinner
c)you are getting royally ripped off!
d)get a job where you can be home before 5pm otherwise you'll be parking on the otherside of the complex
e)don't bother complaining to the office about the ***hole that continues to set off firecrackers EVERYDAY because when I did they just laughed it off and say "well, I was too lazy to do anything about it"
