I lived at Schooner Cove for two years and it was a nice place at first. The manager and officce staff really cared about any problems that came up. The office staff changed hands and there seemed to be a sharp increase in crime. Within a period of about two months, someone had broken into my car, someone stole the tires off of my car and left it up on cinder blocks and someone had tried to steal a boat from the parking lot and slammed into my car with it. They left the boat behind my car and took off. The maintenance people, and any other workmen that they contracted, had a peeping problem. They were constantly looking in our windows and yelling obscene things at my girlfriend when I was not home. Also, I paid my first lease in full before moving in and about a month before the lease was up they contacted us and said that we still owed $465 but they didn't know what it was for. Our options were to either pay the money or they would report the delinquency to the credit reporting agency and we wouldn't be able to extend our lease. We paid the money and asked for an explanation. It took them about 9 months to get back to us. I left numerous messages that were never returned and I went into the office and spoke the accounting manager and received numerous excuses for why they didn't have an answer. Overall, I felt that the new staff (especially the new manager and Matt) didn't care about the residents. They took down all of the parking lot lights when they started construction and that is when the crime started. This place is unsafe and I would not recommend living here.

I live here currently and I have had no problems with the office staff they are always willing to help. I haven't seen any lights down I see new lights going up though. I just wonder if it has been so bad why do people stay and it is almost always full? Can't be that bad, and I called the sherrifs department when there were things going on and they said that the car break ins and such were happening all over the area not just schooner. So anyone reading this I like it and am very happy so I would give it a try!

As they were putting in the new light they turned our old ones off making it really dark outside and very unsafe. especially for people with pets and who work late. I've had lots of problems with them adding fees or saying we owe a certain amount of money when we didnt and then not knowing what the fee was even for.
