I've lived in Schooner Cove for 2 years now. Last year i lived on the side by the park. Ford Lake Landing apartments are right next to us kinda on the outside. Last year a women got killed by her ex boyfriend in those apartments which were right across the street from me at the time. This year i live on the other side of the complex. So far this year a girl got mugged in the building next to me, a girl got raped a couple buildings down and then the "drug deal gone bad" where a guy gets murdered and another run over happen right outside my building. On my end of the complex there are cars that sit out in the parking lot, deal drugs, do drugs etc... you see all kinds of their leftovers on the ground which isn't the safest when there are little kinds around. We dont have security or gated entry so anyone can come and go. After the girl got raped a few months back they had borrowed a security car that patroled one of their other apartments to come drive around for a night and that was the last time i saw it. After the murder that happened 2 weeks ago i've seen another security truck that drives around everynight now but its one of those security trucks you see drive around the parking lot of Best Buy so i dont know what all they are capable of. Other then that we now have neighborhood watch meetings. The management company does not know how to handle situations like this that come about. Coming home from work at all different hours, i do not feel safe living here.
