I have lived at Schooner Cove for almost 2 years and it has probably been one of the best places I have lived. I have a 1 bedroom which is huge for the price with a view of the lake. I have never had a problem with any of the staff either. They are all friendly and professional. The walls are surprisingly THICK. I can never hear anyone unless I am standing in the hallway. Yes there has been some crime. When I first moved in a girl was raped in those condos out front and there was a drug deal that went down in the lot outside my place where someone got killed. Yes both horrible things, but isolated incidents. To quote a previous entry, "it is Ypsi." Crime can happen anywhere. The rent increases the past 2 years have been higher than imagined so that is why I do not believe I will renew with them which is too bad because I do like it. If you do plan to move here I would definately suggest a second or third floor apt as to not be on the ground and vunerable. Also be prepared to pay all your utilities inlcuding water and trash removal.

You have to pay for trash removal? How much does that cost? I'm pretty sure I'll be living in Schooner Cove in the fall so that would be something good to know.

I'm not entirely sure that's accurate. I never paid for trash pickup when I was there, but I did have to pay for water and sewage, but I hear that's an Ypsilanti thing, not a Schooner Cove thing.

Yes you did pay for trash removal - you probably just didn't read the fine print, I know it is included in the price for water and sewage. The advice about living on the 2nd or 3rd floor is a good one because you are less vulnerable- less noise and less insect problems because it is on the lake and woods (insects are going to go to the lowest level closest to their habitat)

What did you pay on average per month for the AUM bill for water, sewage and trash? My current AUM in another complex in the area runs about $45-55 a month and its generally more for sewer than water for some reason. I know they factor in the number of residents per apt also though. So I was just curious what it runs in Schooner cove. I'm moving there soon.

AUM on average for my one bedroom is $18.00. I've seen it as low as $15 and as high as $20. But I have never seen $45-$55
