There have been a tremendous amount of improvements here since we first moved in Sept of 2006. Horrible when we first moved, heat didnt even work, called maintenance 7 times, with no results. Thermostat had to be set at 90, 4 space heaters throughtout, just to get the temp to 62, this lasted the entire flu plagued winter. Same problem with the air. Vehicle broken into 6 times (yes I said 6, street lights on entire street were out for months, had to threaten to finally have replaced). But keep in mind, the majority of these bad reviews were written before the new management tookover, and many of them sound like people who didnt pay and were evicted, and are now deciding to b****. Once management took over, I had a brand new furnace and central air unit, have not had a problem since. Maintenance is very friendly, Chris is great and actually concerned about tenants problems. Tons of programs and classes offered for free, Kat and Shannon in the office are fabulous, whoever the little skinny blonde with the odd hair is, however is VERY unfriendly. I received a very snotty attitude just trying to pick up a package, and has been the same way each and every time i have come into contact with her. Not the best personality to have at the front of a business. I do feel that the "security" is a joke though, they seem like criminals themselves.
BUT overall, it really is a beautiful place, and if they keep heading in the direction that they are now, will be a fabulous place to live.

Security Guards have to have a back ground check before they can work. I work for the company that does security and we are professional and honest. The owner works every day for Lakeshore. We do a great job at the front gate with ALL cars stopped, documented and cameras that view our actions. The owner of the security company has played a huge role in making this community better. In order to clean up a community it takes a lot of people, please do not make such remarks unless you can explain why? Our company helped start the neighborhood watch, worked on the fireworks, we attend and help because this is our mission to work to maintain a good quality of life. Thank you for you opinions, talk to us with any of your concerns and let us have our moment to answer your questions. Security Guards can not works unless they have been approved to do so by The Michigan State Police. We are not criminals and I take my job serious. I am also going to Police school and I know that my experience with this company will help my career with the experience I reveive every day. Thank You! K. Powell

I think the response from the security guard is a little overdone. Don't take your job so seriously. It's nice to know how the system works but it's not like this person was attacking you. They said the apartments are better. Take a chill pill.

My thoughts exactly. There are quite a few reviews that seem to have been attacked by staff of the apartments that are uncalled for. (this is probably the least offensive) People are leaving honest OPINIONS (look up the definition). And honestly, it looks very bad on the complex for all of these reponses that management and others are posting. You're doing the opposite of what you are attempting to do. This site is not here to have these little high school tiffs, but for people to say how they feel, end of story.

I agree! That blonde at the desk for resident services is EXTREMELY rude in comparison to all the other people I have dealt with that work there. She is very condescending and does not give off any impression she cares about the well-being of residents; at least the rest of the staff puts forth the effort to show they care when I report a problem. I agree that she is not well-suited for her position, especially considering she is the first person residents come in contact with.
