To all the people that may want to rent here, listen up. The apartment community is lovely, the crime rate has dropped and it seems the community is on the way upward. What I do not understand is why and how is the current manager still there. Some of my friends that I go to school with can attest to how rude and inconsiderate she is. This manager is something else. Go into the office and you will see her outrages, she uses profanity like a sailor. My present room mate and I went in to view an apartment. The leasing agent was nice until she had a question for the manager, in walks this tall skinny lady and she proceedes to level her to the knees. As this was not enough she went into another room and continued to cuss at her employees for not knowing information after 4 months of working here. She is not the type of person to do this job. As you may be aware, if you read some of the reviews here, this topic has been discussed, followed by remarks that clearly comes from her staff probably asked/threatened to write something positive. I live at Glencoe Hills as of now and I am ready to leave this place but until this manger is removed, it will not he Lakeshore. At the U, people are always asking recommendations about apartments, well what can/will I say' I am in my second year of med school and a lot of time I have to keep my emotions in place and this is perhaps why I was so stricken by this lady's action. These are my thoughts, nice place, manager, not so much!

I don't agree or disagree, but you response seems impossible. Unless all of your staff is less than 3 months of training, then at some point all of the must each have been at only 4 months training. You can't ever have employees with years of training, if none we're ever at only 4 months of training, and this removes credibility from your stance. As I said, I don't know you, and I don't agree with either party, just thought I'd point out some inconsistency.

To the person who wrote this review, I have never cussed at my employees for asking me a question. I also do not have any employees that have been here for only 4 months. What you may fail to realize is that I work very hard and my work, as well as the wonderful staff that I have, is the reason The Lake Shore is what it is. I am not sure what you have against me and I would love to speak with you directly. All the people on my leasing staff are actually friends of mine (before they worked here) so I am not sure where you got that I threaten and cuss at them. I do not force any person to work here, live here or write a review. I expect some reviews to be negative against me because I am the one that has to deny applications, evict people and handle complaints...this part of the job is not exactly positive. If you are interested in living here I would suggest you come in and speak to actual residents. People compliment myself and my staff all the time because we do make this an awesome place to live.

Any good manager knows opinions, reviews, comments and complaints are not to be taken personally. The fact that they seem to be taken personally in written responses indicates the level of maturity The Lake Shore complex has in it's chosen manager and staff. We are all entitled to our opinion. After all, the manager isn't the owner. I also find it unsatisfactory work ethic and seriously lacking management skills that the explanation that you don't cuss at your employees simply because they are and were your friends "(before they worked here)" is completely inexcusable. A simple, "My business practice is not to intimidate and most certainly not cuss or use my power as a manager to thwart office practice", would have sufficed. Also, any good manager knows staff can only be as good as they are led to be. It is our job as management to instill good habitual, strong work ethic and trust to ensure a healthy functional work environment for every employee from the lowest pay scale to the highest. With regard to other comments about the aesthetics of the complex, substance will last longer than paint and flowers! Best of luck with management, but it sounds like a lot of growing and maturing needs to occur to fully handle all of the responsibilities and commitment it takes in every sense of the words to deal with the magnitude of the problems I've read or heard that this complex faces. The first order of business to that comment should have been reconciling the complaintent's dismay, not make excuses or defensive explanation. Management carries the responsibility that you are skillfully equipped to handle any and all situations that arise to better the validity of the entity. A bit highschool-ish. Oh, by the way, I've never been denied an application, never been evicted or filed complaints. I'm simply responding to some comments and reviewing them along with a friend who considered moving there.

Well I am the "new girl" of the staff and I could defantly say that my manager does not yell and cuss at me what so ever. The only reason she may get frusterated is because we are not doing our work right after she has told us multiple times how to do it. To say that she is being a bad manager is totally wrong, she is just tring to better us so that we do our job right. I could say that I am extreamly happy to be here, actually before I worked here I was Jens good friend. So sometimes if she seems to be a little bit harsh, shes not shes just being real with me because she knows me on a different level then just her employee.

I was considering moving here after being referred to check this place out by a friend. I must admit that though the property DOES look nice, the response I just read from the manager has turned me off from this community a bit. I would have to agree with the person above who stated that the managers duty is to smooth out a situation, not defend or make excuses for their actions. I don't understand why her response was so "matter of factual". Furthermore, to boast that you have hired your "friends" to help run the place seems quite unprofessional in my opinion. A conflict of interest if you will. Bottom line, I'm thinking twice about even VISITING this property after reading the ratings. I mean I do understand that an dissatisfied tenant will post a review more often than a satisfied tenant would. But to just see the reaction from "management" to a complaint online makes me a bit wary about what would happen should I have an issue in my unit if I actually moved in. I am truly grateful for this site, and the insight provided by current/past tenants, and even management. No thanks...NEEEEXT!
