Absolutely Horrible

Before I begin with how horrible living at "The Pines of Cloverlane" has been, let me just say one positive thing. The office staff here has always been very polite, friendly and courteous to me, I have never had a problem with anyone at the leasing office. Now with that said...
My building had the lock on the front door broken. Maintenance?s idea of fixing it, was to remove it altogether. My front door has had NO lock on it at all, for over a month, and yes, it is very obvious from the outside that there is no lock on the door. The screens in my apartment are horrible, if I?m ever dumb enough to have my windows open, insects get in. I have a toilet that I have to flush upwards of SEVEN times before the water will go down, and no, IT IS NOT CLOGGED. There are also several electrical outlets in my apartment that are faulty. Every time the maintenance staff comes out to fix a problem, it never gets fixed properly. Getting a response with 48 hours of your maintenance request means nothing if the problem is never properly fixed.
The people that live in my building have absolutely NO respect at all for anyone other than themselves (although they don?t seem to have too much for themselves either). The laundry room is always disgusting. There are constantly people?s clothes all over, and the washer and dryer always have things spilled on them. At the present moment in time, the hallways smell of rancid, rotting garbage. Maintenance?s solution to that problem, instead of finding out why it smells, was to just opened up the front door all day so that the hallway filled with insects. The people across from me are constantly running up and down the stairways, banging their doors, at all times of the night. Their dog also barks constantly. The people below me are ALWAYS fighting and slamming doors, again, at all hours of the night.
There are broken down cars parked in the parking lot, that have been there for MONTHS. Management?s solution to this problem is to just keep stickering the vehicles, without ever getting rid of them. Parking is appalling, which is amazing since the lot is so huge. Good luck finding a spot near your building. About 60 percent of the cars in the lot NEVER move. Anyone near my building with children never watch after them. Children are always running around in the street, or playing IN THE DUMPSTER. There are also a large number of pitbulls, and other dogs around, which are not supposed to be allowed.
I have lived in apartments with roaches, and in one that had the ceiling start to collapse, and I still think that The Pines was a far worse experience than even those. If you absolutely have to live in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area, please, do yourself a huge favor, and look elsewhere. Being polite and friendly does not make up for incompetence. I?m so glad I?m out of there...
