I've just moved into my place at The Pines and I really couldn't be happier. There are peak "can't find parking" times around my unit, but when I come onto the property I see that other units don't really have any parking issues. It's really not bad if I have to park in front of the neighboring building.
I have had NO bugs, I get great light, and I have not had any noise complaints at all. My downstairs neighbors do smoke on their patio, so it keeps me inside most of the time. But for the most part, my neighbors are great. I have friends in other units, and their buildings are also quiet. The only "noise" that I can think of is the Canadian Geese in the mornings. The honk and honk and honk...and they also like to stand in the middle of the street when you're driving out.
My first maintenance request was a little disappointing, but I do not think that the maintenance here is poor. Equity is really good about their Maintenance Promise, and I don't really know why a lot of people feel the need to down-talk The Pines office and maintenance staff.
The office staff are GREAT. With such a large community, it's suprising that they know their residents by name, and I have never had an unpleasant experience with any of them.
I think for the most part, the people who bad-mouth apartments in these ratings are people who: A. Didn't pay their rent on time, and as a result, had a poor experience with the staff, or B. Trashed the apartment, didn't get their security deposit back, and were charged a bunch of fees and now have a gripe with the management company.
The Pines is great, and you really can't find a more natured and beautifully landscaped place with units that are as well-kept in the area at such a low price. If anyone thinks they CAN, please, let me know.
