Better than McKinley

We've been here about 6 months now, and overall we're pleased. The staff seems to genuinely care about their tenants. They seem to know everyone by name, and have their address and apt. committed to memory, which is impressive because it's a rather large complex. The grounds are quite pretty. We have a second floor apartment with a balcony that faces an open area wooded with large mature pines. There are birds and squirrels to watch and we rarely hear noise from the other apartments. Our last 2 apartments were with McKinley and I can honestly say that The Pines is heads and shoulders about McKinley. Our apartment has new countertops and cherry cabinets, and while the kitchen could have been laid out a little better, it is a very nice kitchen.
I do have 2 complaints however:

1. When we moved in we got a "free" cruise. It would cost us about $534 for my wife to take advantage of the cruise. That's not counting air fare to the port of call (which we expected to have to pay for), that's just the booking fees and port fees, which hardly makes it free, plus there are too many catches and requirements for anyone but a retired person to be able to use it. We took $500 out of our honeymoon fund to move in here expecting to use the cruise as our honeymoon, and there was no way we could use the cruise at all.

2. Our building has 10 units in it, and there is just 1 washer and 1 dryer in the basement for 10 units. It's very difficult to find the washer and dryer empty to do your laundry, even at 1 in the morning. Most times we just go to the laundromat.

Aside from those 2 complaints we're very pleased with our apartments, our neighbors are nice, the management seems to care about their residents, the grounds are pretty, and the clubhouse (which has a pool, some exercise equipment, and an internet cafe with 2 computers for the residents) is pretty nice. I would recommend this apartment complex to my friends.

Wow! You guys must have really stayed in some crap holes if you think the pines is better than other places. I have looked at many of McKinley properties and while they are about the same as the pines, some better some worse, most are less money. Good luck with your winter utility bills! =P

I've lived at The Pines for 2 years now and Im totally pleased. I looked at a few different places before moving here and I was more impressed with the Pines. I do live in an updated apt and maybe that makes a difference but I can't complain. I feel safe here and thats the most important thing for me.
