Make sure you expect to pay a lot if you paint your apartment, even though they may tell you it will come out of the non-refundable portion of your deposit. We were told when we moved in that we would not need to repaint because they repaint anyway. The staff simply said they appreciate one coat of primer over dark colors. Well, we just got a statement in the mail saying they would be keeping $250 to repaint. Needless to say, I would not recommend a place that either lies to you up front or tries to scam you in the end.
