I have been at Devonshire for about 7 months. In the summer, anytime the AC was runs the apartment would smell like smoke. The washing machine and dish washer were broken when I moved in. The dishwasher has been "fixed" 4 times since then. The last time it took 5 weeks to get someone to work on it. For the last 3 months I have had a neighbor with a dog which barks for hours at a time and poops on my front stoop. My neighbor does nothing to stop the barking and the poop never gets picked up by anyone but me. For the most part, the management has done nothing. After I complained about 20 time in the last month i was told that nothing could be done unless I file a police report. And, If I file a police report i could be moved to another apartment. I would have to move! The neighbor with the ill-trained dog would have no consequences at all. I believe this is a case of age discrimination. The person i complain about is in their mid/late 40's and I'm in my 20's. When I complain, I'm told that my neighbor is a nice person and that they are trying to change things. I wonder if that would work as an excuse if I was having loud parties and blasting a stereo. Don't count on it. Under no circumstances would i recommend anyone under thirty to rent here.
