I love it!

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
I have lived at International Village since January of 2008 and I have had no complaints. I'm a 23yr old girl and I live in the barcelona building (the pinkish colored one) and all of the neighbors are really nice. Maintenance is wonderful, anytime you need anything fixed or looked at, they come the same day. During the summer, the AC unit quit working and they replaced it with a brand new one the same day which was awesome. Saftey isn't an issue... I feel safe enough to leave my door unlocked when I'm taking out trash or bringing groceries in. I've seen cops ride by like maybe three times in the year or so I've lived here, but there wasn't trouble. The rent is fair, it's a little high in my opinion but it does include water and trash. You pay for the indoor and outdoor pools, the movie theater (which is neat), the tennis court, the volleyball court, the gym... etc..
They just renovated the laundry rooms in all of the building and replaced the washers and dryers which works great. Wash load is $1.50 and dryer is $1.25 which is comprable to most laundromats and other apt. coomplexes.
Neighbors aren't too noisy, you have to expect some noise since you live in a apartment. I've only dealt with Heidi who is the property manager, and anything you need done or any questions you may have, Heidi answers them promptly and whatever you need done, she ensure it's done and done properly. She's great to talk to.
I workout alot and I must say the gym is one of the better ones I've seen as far as apartment gyms go. Most of the equipment are about 3-4 years old at the most, new dumbbells, t.v.... the people in there are respectful and clean up after they use something.
Oh! And yes, the water can burn if you turn it all the way over to the left. But you learn your lesson quick. I don't know how that can be fixed though. Heat, yeah, I'd only turn it on in the winter if it got reaalllly cold, otherwise it stayed nice and toasty. In the summers, you only need to use the a/c on the hottest days, otherwise opening the windows works fantastic.
I have to say, there's really no con to living here except for the rent. The location is great (about 15-20 mins to downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, and the apt right next to 35W)
